FAQs about Agile

What is Agile?

Agile is a project management philsophy, used especially in software development, as an alternative to traditional "waterfall" sequential project management.

Agile emphasizes teamwork, adaptability to change, customer collaboration, and demonstrable work products. To put these principles in practice, several agile methodologies have been developed, such as Scrum and Kanban.

What is Scrum?

Scrum is one of the most popular methodologies for implementing the agile philosophy, especially for software development.

Scrum is characterized by iterative software development within fixed-length periods of time, commonly referred to as sprints.

Other practices and roles established by Scrum include the Scrum Team (made up of the development team, the Product Owner, and the Scrum Master), breaking down customer requirements into User Stories, daily stand-up meetings, and more.

What is Kanban?

Kanban is another popular agile methodology, based on visualizing the flow of your processes, removing obstructions from that flow, and finding ways to continually improve the process.

Because of its emphasis on process flow, Kanban is best used for teams that continuously receive new tasks and need to complete them as soon as possible, such as IT support and service delivery.
