"Foundations of Capability" Course

Jonathan Dean of Excellence in Measurement Technology will be instructing the CMMI Institute course "Foundations of Capability". The description of the course is as follows:

This is a virtual online delivery of the CMMI Institute certified Foundations of Capability course. This is the first course in the introductory series of courses for CMMI V2.0 and is a pre-requisite for taking the CMMI Associate exam or for attendance on one of the Building Excellence courses. Through a mixture of exercises, lectures and class discussions, the Foundations of Capability course will teach you how to use the CMMI V2.0 Model and explain the business value that can be gained by improving your organization’s capability. Successful completion of this course will give you one attempt at the CMMI Associate exam and provides the necessary foundation knowledge to prepare you to take one or more of the subsequent Building Excellence courses.

As part of this class you will receive:

  • 30 days access to the CMMI Online Model Viewer
  • Access to official course materials
  • One attempt at the CMMI Associate exam (valid 30 days from course completion)
  • Electronic access to all standard CMMI Institute slides and exercise material

On successful completion of the course you will receive:

  • Official CMMI Institute certificate in pdf form
  • Entry into the CMMI Institute database which will open up the possibility of your participation as an appraisal team member and is an entry requirement for more advanced CMMI courses

Following CMMI Institute guidelines, this online course runs over 2.5 days in the EST time-zone and starts at 09:00 with a projected end time of 16:00 on days 1 & 2 and 14:00 on day 3. Potential students should have access to a reliable, high-bandwidth internet connection and all usual video-conferencing facilities. In accordance with CMMI Institute policy, virtual class sizes are strictly limited to 15 students.

"Building Development Excellence" Course

Jonathan Dean of Excellence in Measurement Technology will be instructing the CMMI Institute course "Building Development Excellence". The description of the course is as follows:

The Building Development Excellence course follows on from the (pre-requisite) Foundations of Capability course and introduces students to the practices within CMMI V2.0 that cover development activities. It will teach you how to understand the Development view of the CMMI and apply it to your own engineering or development processes.

As part of this class you will receive:

  • 30 days access to the CMMI Online Model Viewer
  • Electronic access to all standard CMMI Institute slides and exercise material

On successful completion of the course you will receive:

  • Official CMMI Institute certificate in pdf form
  • Entry into the CMMI Institute database which will open up the possibility of your participation as an appraisal team member and is an entry requirement for more advanced CMMI courses

Following CMMI Institute guidelines, this online course runs over 1.5 days in the EST time-zone and starts at 14:00 on day 1, immediately after the companion “Foundations of Capability” Course, and 09:00 on Day 2, with a projected end time of 16:00 on both days . Potential students should have access to a reliable, high-bandwidth internet connection and all usual video-conferencing facilities In accordance with CMMI Institute policy, virtual class sizes are strictly limited to 15 students.
